Acetylene (C2H2) is a gaseous
hydrocarbon, colorless, unstable, highly combustible and with strong garlic
odor. It is not an air gas and it produces a very hot flame (over 3000°C or
5400°C) when combined with oxygen.
Industrial Use
- Used mainly in the automatic lubrification for glass bottle production
moulding.
- It is the fuel gas in Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS).
- It is the most effective and versatile fuel gas, enabling manual
applications such as welding, brazing, cutting, straightening or any other
localized heating process.
